I had misfiled this image and thought I would at least share it.

I think the same is true for Pearl Harbor Naval Base, on Hickham AFB none of the bullet holes in the buildings have never been repaired. They are painted, as necessary, but will never be repaired. They serve as a reminder to all military personnel, and civilians, that pass by them.

A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY

DECEMBER 7, 1941

Wars are fought by men. Many of these men die. Wars are begun by others, often less brave, who sit many thousands of miles from the death. Those who fought and died in the battles of World War II were, in most cases, honorable men, whether they be American, British, German, French, Japanese or from any one of the many other nations involved.

Each year, we pause to remember those who died on that morning 65 years ago. We remember not so as to bring back memories of a time when the world went mad. We remember not so as to condemn those who attacked us. We remember lest we forget those who died and lest we forget that we must never allow it to happen again.

This year, the 65th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, will be the last one with servicemen who were there that day. These guys are now in their 80's and 90's. In the very near future, even the Arizona itself will be gone. 65 years of rusting in the waters of Pearl Harbor have taken its toll. Eventually all that will be left will be the Memorial.
