DA KINE

My beautiful friend, Alissa (a/k/a/ "Wiskers"), sent me the following message and photo. I thought you might enjoy it.

I wanted to send you a picture that I had taken of me when I was in Israel. It was at the Jordan River at the baptismal site of Jesus. They had a part of the Bible written in several different languages…Pigeon apparently being one of them. I thought you would appreciate this!!

2009 - THE YEAR IN REVIEW

"The hunert miles per hour goat"

Two Texas Aggies are out hunting, and as they are walking along they come upon a huge hole in the ground. They approach it and are amazed by the size of it.

The first hunter says "Wow, that's some hole; I can't even see the bottom.. I wonder how deep it is." The second hunter says" I don't know, let's throw something down and listen and see how long it takes to hit bottom."

The first hunter says "There's this old automobile transmission over here, give me a hand and we'll throw it in and see". So they pick it up and carry it over, and count one, and two and three, and throw it in the hole.

They are standing there listening and looking over the edge and they hear a rustling in the brush behind them. As they turn around they see a goat come crashing through the brush, run up to the hole and with no hesitation, and jump in head first.

While they are standing there looking at each other, looking in the hole and trying to figure out what that was all about, an old farmer walks up. "Say there", says the farmer, "you fellers didn't happen to see my goat around here anywhere, did you?"

The first hunter says " Funny you should ask, but we were just standing here a minute ago and a goat came running out of the bushes doin' about a hunert miles an hour and jumped headfirst into this hole here!"

The old farmer said "Why that's impossible, I had him chained to a transmission!"

"Let's all be careful out there!"

I AM IMPRESSED

Back when I started this ol' blog, I hoped that I would reach every country in the world. I am not doing too bad.

Those areas in white are where I have NOT had visitors from.

In the Caribbean I am missing Anguilla, Cuba, Haiti and Turks and Caicos Islands.

South America is missing Falkland Islands and Suriname.

Europe finally gave me Monaco but I still need Andorra, San Marino and Vatican City to complete the set.

Asia was a surprise. I only need Bhutan, East Timor, North Korea and Turkmenistan.

As you can see, Africa has a lot of room for growth: Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, uinee Conakry, Lesotho, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Swaziland, Western Sahara, Zambia.

The Pacific Basin (Oceania) also has some elusive locales: Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Norfolk Island, Pitcairn Islands, Rarotonga & the Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu.
