"LIVE" FROM SCOTLAND

Strachur plays host to the new sport of swamp soccer:

Prisoners find a new way to obtain drugs and cell phones:

.And speaking of drug smuggling. Just file this one under the "Everything Old Is New Again" category.

You're a soon to be laid off airline pilot. Looking for work. Might be some openings in India.

It is extremely smoky here in the central valley of CA. Here are some webcams in my general area that show the conditions. Adjust for when it is daylight in my part of the world. UTC -8

"Let's all be careful out there!"

ONLY 6 SHOPPING MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

SORRY. DIDN'T MEAN TO ADD EXTRA STRESS TO YOUR LIFE

With just 6½ weeks until the start of the Olympics, China is tightening security around the various venues. But not really much more than was done in Greece 4 years ago.

These two young ladies from Salt Lake City are pissed. The high cost of gas has forced their mom to cancel cable-tv so she can afford fuel to commute to work.

AVM BBDO is a major ad agency in the UK. The alleged concept behind this Heinz ad was that the product tastes so good, "It's as if you have your own New York deli man in your kitchen."

It didn't get the reaction they were expecting and has been pulled by Heinz. As well might their £10m-a-year contract

Another DUI arrest on another unusual vehicle. This time out of North Pole AK.

A preview of the world's first rotating skyscraper:

Our suffering economy has far reaching consequences.

YOUR KNOW REPUBLICANS ARE IN TROUBLE...

WHEN THEY ALIGN WITH OBAMA IN THEIR CAMPAIGN ADS

Here is an article about it from (ahem) "Fair & Balanced" FoxNews.

I've said it before. The worst message that a Republican candidate can receive is one saying that Dubya wants to campaign for them. Talk about the kiss of death.

Where I am now residing is considered the "Bible Belt" of California. In fact, the City of Turlock, about 20 miles south, was the holder of the Guinness record for the most churches per capita. Also Modesto is the only school district in the entire nation that has a mandatory course on world religions. "Teach, don't preach" is the theme. A desire to make students aware that there is more to life than the conservative evangelical dogma they've been indoctinated with their entire life. A smart move. IMO.

Come Monday, the 30th, Windows XP operating system begins that long walk into oblivion.

Is Don Imus getting to be too much of a liability for radio networks? I think he should just move his show over to Sirius Satellite radio and then let the flushings of his brain continue without a problem.

It doesn't look as if Boy George will be able to make his scheduled concert appearances in the US. We won't grant him a visa. I wonder if he can get a MasterCard?

And yet another example of Dubya's people violating the laws of our country to achieve the control they desired.

I appreciate your visit. Hope you can return again. Check back later for more.
