PRIMEVAL s01 - e01

"Let's all be careful out there!"

MY SLIDE INTO OBLIVION

I am beginning to run out of ways to make lemonade out of the lemons my live has become.

After 3 months of staying with my son and family, awaiting the slow process of trying to obtain disability, I become the unwanted househuest. On Monday, August 25th, I had an appointment to get foodstamps. Thay evening my son informed me that I would be moving to a studio apartment that he had rented for me on the far side of town on Tuesday. And thus the short notice to all of you about my abrupt departure. I have one folding chair. One canvas sports chair and a bed. It took until yesterday afternoon to get a DSL connection established. Lets just say that the phone company isn't as efficient as they would like us to believe. From the 26th until now, my only form of entertainment was to play solitaire, Minesweeper, Hearts and Freecell. All games that are included in the basic programming in the Windows XP system. My son gave me a prepaid cell phone so he could communicate with me. Too say that life has been dull is an understatement. My first doctor's evaluation is scheduled for the 18th of this month. My case worker in the foodstamp program told me that I cane expect to have my claim for disability denied at least twice. Isn't that encouraging?

I have been out of contact with the world until yesterday. Just found out who the VP candidates are going to be. Didn't know anything about the series of hurricanes that have impacted the east coast and gulf coast areas. All I have been aware of is mind numbing boredom. And oppressive heat. It was over 100 yesterday and for the past week and a half the temps have varied from 95 to 100+. Thats just plain hot. My diet has been very restricted. I have to make $162 last me for my food needs for a month. Next month should be a bit easier, since I won't have to buy so many basics again. At least not at one fell swoop.

Tried to find out if my car had been sold yet by Judy but she quit answering her phone for over 2 months now. My son says he'll cover the rent and utilities until the end of October. If disability doesn't kick in by then, I guess I become homeless.

I'll be back to my regular postings on Monday. Its taking me a while to catch up on whats happening in the world. I'll be here, daily, until the next threshhold is crossed.

Too say I am depressed is a mild observation. I am fast running out of ideas and/or workable solutions. And the vision deteriorates daily. I see but the fog just keeps getting more dense with each new day.

I know. This is a downer post but y'all wanted to know the details on whats happening and this is it.

See ya tomorrow on a brighter note.
