60 vs 4

As I mentioned, I spent yesterday with daughter and family. The youngest GS is 4 and, like all kids that age, is full of energy. Going full throttle as long as he is awake. I did my best to match him and keep a wary eye on his doings. Lets face it a 4yo can get into mischief faster than an eye-blink. I thought I had handled everything very well until today. I was exhausted. Woke up at 8AM and thought I would get up but the body wasn't as enthusiastic about the idea as the brain was. Laid back down and the next time I opened my eyes it was almost 2PM. Even then the body only begrudgedly complied with the brain.

Its obvious why its young adults that have children. I don't think I could do this on a daily basis. [pant-pant]

Thats also why there was no Noon post.

The temps have cooled off a bit today. But the northern half of California is ablaze with nature caused fires. All by lightning strikes.

The flood waters rushing down the Mississippi will probably increase the "dead-zone" in the Gulf of Mexico. All those phosphates and agricultural wastes.

The latest in "gee-whiz" in digital cameras.

Straight out of sci-fi. Binoculars controlled by brainwaves.

Ever wonder why nice guys always finish last? Part of the reason is that by being nice or accommodating they appear to be weak.

HEAT WAVE

ITS FRAKKING HOT

Friday was 106°f (41°c) at my son's house. Saturday was a Xerox copy. Today it should cool down to 100°f (38°c). The entire State is burning up figuratively and literally. So I went off to the "daughter's" place and spent the day and evening. Spent some time in the pool at her complex, and the hot tub. Watched the video "Cloverfield", which greatly exceeded my expectations. Had a wonderful day.

But back at the news wheel, the grind continues with little of new(s) interest. Just a rehash of political posturing by both camps in the run-up to their respective conventions. The floods along the upper Mississippi seem to be settling down and should pass into the Gulf with little ado. No major tropical storms around the globe. Overall, a very boring weekend.

The new FF-3 has achieved 14,000,000+ downloads as of Friday. I hope to see a lot more of them showing up on my trackers. This blog drops the sidebar all the way to the bottom of the page when viewed using IE. I am working on a change that may fix that and give the blog a really different look. If all pans out, you'll be the first to know. No timeline for that though.

With nothing else to do, some researcher has determined the formula for the "perfect" cheese sandwich.

One eye. Three legs. No hair. The Sonoma-Marin (CA) County Fair has named the Ugliest dog in the World:

The scoring system used in gymnastics has been changed. There will no longer be a "perfect-10". Now the goal is 17.

Thanks for stopping over. I'll try my darnedest to find something more interesting than this post was. Check back later to see how I've done.
