At the intersection of Lipoa Street and South Kihei Road. 10:24p. After 12,838 miles and 84 days the goal was achieved.
And mahalo to each of you who participated. I hope everyone had fun.
Now watch my reader stats plummet into the basement.
***It was a very busy night. The resorts in Wailea have filled their spaces with "groups". Fortunately, all of them are "high-rollers". Obnoxious, in-your-face, hyper Type-A personalities. With lots of cash.
Its a trade-off that must be accepted to earn a living.
Never left town the entire shift. And seldom stopped moving. I was running the show from 9p on. By 11p there were just 3 of us left. The same as Thursday.
Riddle me this:
We have 4 cabs scheduled thru bar-close on the slow Tuesday and Wednesday nights. On our busy Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights we only have 3 cabs scheduled. Does that make sense? We moved a lot of people, in groups of 10 to 30 people at a time. When we had the nine cabs at the start of the night, we managed. After these groups finished dinner, we moved some back to their resort but most went out to party. We had nearly 80 people scattered between the 12 open bars in town. From the far north to the far south. At bar-close, everyone called at once. Ready to go "home". And there was just the three of us, with a maximum total load capacity of 17 bodies. Plus all our regular bar crowd. Everybody that stayed where they said they would be eventually got a ride. We finally cleared the night around 2:30a and "Crazy" Brian and TMR bailed. I added another $50 to the meter during the "dog-watch".
20 fares / 149 miles / 3rd quarter $200 bracket
***Enjoy the remainder of your weekend and I hope you can stop in tomorrow.
Maybe you can leave a "Congratulations" comment for DB.
