Judy has had a very physical week. Her predecessor had never developed a filing system. Each new load of paperwork and mail would just be piled atop what was already there. At the end of each month she would dump everything from the top of her desk into boxes, which were then stored. Unlabeled. This was done over the past 20 years or so.
Judy has been going through the boxes, creating a file system. Those CSI folks aren't half as good as her.
On our way to dinner, I surprised Judy by buying her a new dress. I had seen it displayed in a nice little shop inside the Maui Coast Hotel. I told her it was an early birthday present.
She then surprised me with a gift certificate from Stella Blue's, a popular restaurant in Azeka Place - Mauka.
"Can you eat there?"
"I've had lunch there once. I'll just have to order carefully."
"Lets check it out."
We weren't impressed. The interior is very tropically pleasing. Almost an island 1920's "feeling" to it.
Service was sub-par and we'll leave it at that.
The food was adequate, both in flavor and presentation.
I have listened to their radio promos for years and the impression they had created in my anticipation was vastly disappointed.
A definite "THUMBS DOWN".

Thanks for visiting. Back to work, and hopefully some stories of interest, tomorrow. It's my "Monday". Sometimes I think I should have followed my H.S. guidance councilor's advice and become a ditch-digger. Of course, shes dead now and I'm living on Mau'i. LOL Mahalo

WHY PARENTS HAVE GRAY HAIR
A father, passing by his son's bedroom, was astonished to see the bed nicely made up and everything neat and tidy. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed, "Dad".
With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:
Dear Dad,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with you and Mom. I've been finding real passion with Joan and she is so nice. I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, her tight motorcycle clothes and because she is so much older than I am. But it's not only the passion, Dad, she's pregnant. Joan says that we are going to be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood, enough for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children. Joan has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it and trading it with the
other people in the commune for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Joan can get better; she sure deserves it! Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday, I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

P.S. Dad,
none of the above is true .I'm over at Tommy's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report card that's in my desk drawer.
I love you!
Call when it is safe for me to come home.

EASTER IS CANCELED!There I was, driving my cab, ONE-NINE, and I couldn't stop in time. He just ran out in front of me.
I am so, so sorry.
I thought I would give you a"heads up" so you can fall back on "Plan-B".

Remember that cute little Coppertone girl with her dog pulling on her blue bathing suit bottoms during the late 50's and throughout the 60's?
Well, she's all grown up now, and is living in Sarasota, Florida at Siesta Key Beach.....
