IF IT BLEEDS

IT LEADS

Thats the most common rule of the television broadcast news business.

Bar close at the "Triangle" was a bit more violent than usual.
Can you think of a more "fun" way to end your evening than by slamming your face into someone's fist, repeatedly?

BRIGIEN

This sweet young lady is a recent transplant from Arkansas. See works evenings and nights, as a waitress, at Denny's

GAS PRICE

Its still dropping.

Have you noticed that it never drops as fast as it goes up.

Any guess as to what the price will be over the Fourth Of July weekend?

ONE MOTHER A/C

The cooling towers for The Grand's air conditionering system.

Very discreetly secreted by the walls of the north parking structure.

LAST NIGHT

Did 11 runs in 11 hours. Took a 2 hour break in the middle of the shift.

Made money.

Brigien was the most interesting run of the night.

I TOLD YOU THEY WERE NICE

AN E-MAIL

Nick and Julie sent me the following e-mail:
Dear Will,

Hello there! Thank you for being a wonderful and welcoming cab driver for us immediately after we stepped foot onto Maui! You are very fun and informative about Maui and (though we were very tired) enjoyed chatting with you. Thank you for putting our picture on your website.

We have enjoyed our time here in Maui, though Julie got carsick when we drove along the beautiful Hana coast.

Aloha,

Nick & Julie

I can't begin to describe just how much e-mails (or comments posted here) mean to me.

ONE-NINE, READY FOR INSPECTION, SIR!

The ROYAL CAB roof sign has been non-functional for two weeks on ONE-NINE. I had tried to fix it myself, with no luck. So yesterday, my day off, I took it to our "meter man" and, after an hour of systematic frustration, he got it working.

Jerry (the "meter man") lives in Kahului, in a very well kept home. Like most Filipinos, he has a pet chicken that has full run of their yard.

Today, the owner, Art, is to take ONE-NINE to the county for its annual inspection. This is very perfunctory and doesn't even come close to what London Cabbie has to go through.

I was supposed to have my "rain check" BBQ dinner, that was cancelled last Monday, with Judy and Dave. Unfortunately, he caught whatever it is that is going around the island and we rescheduled for next Monday.

DA VINCI CODE

Since my cupboards, like Mother Hubbards, were bare, I did some grocery shopping. While waiting in the "check-out" line I spotted this magazine in the POP impulse buy area.

Yup, there is now a "Da Vinci Code" diet.

MORE SIGNS

This will be the last, for awhile.

ANOTHER WEEK BEGINS

And there are only two more to go until the summer tourist season begins.
See y'all tomorrow!

HOW MUCH IS YOUR BLOG WORTH?

(NOTE: I expanded the text size and changed the color on the dollar amount to make it easier to read - Wil)

Tim, at Tampa Taxi Shots, posted a modified version of this on his blog:

My blog is worth $21,452.52.
How much is your blog worth?

Which made me wonder what mine was worth.

My blog is worth $14,113.50.
How much is your blog worth?

Then I was curious about the value of the queen of cab-blogs, New York Hack

My blog is worth $497,359.74.
How much is your blog worth?

That's some serious "chump change"!

Okay. What about MSN.COM?

My blog is worth $5,435,391.12.
How much is your blog worth?

And yahoo!?

My blog is worth $11,776,304.40.
How much is your blog worth?

And, finally, google.com?

FATHER TIME

IS A BASTARD

After Thursday night's requiem with Mother Nature, Father Time dropped by today to remind me I am no longer a kid.

Rest is what the corpus required and that is what it got.

Oh, well. There is always next week.

There is always a next week.

IDLE HANDS

When I am bored I like to play with various "gizmos" on the web.

My latest toy is the Custom Sign Generator

If any of these offend you, live with it.
I prefer to think that at least one will give you a smirk.

SPECIAL FOR CHAFFE IN SHANGHAI

Even though you are using Anonymouse, it still shows as a hit from Shanghai, China with a German URL.
