BIG WAVE

NO BIG DEAL

Picked Judy up from work and asked her where she wanted to go for dinner. I offered Outback Steakhouse or Big Wave We hadn't been to Big Wave for awhile, so off we went.

Big Wave is a fancyfied corner cafe with delusions of grandeur. The waitresses remind me of a typical American truck stop. Tough cookies, one and all. Judy likes to go there because they bake their french fries rather that deep fry them.

She had
Smoked Turkey
Turkey Breast, Lettuce, Tomato, Swiss and Cranberry
Mayonnaise
$8.95

And I opted for
Big Wave Burger
Sauteed Onion, Bell Pepper, Mushroom, Pepper Jack Cheese,
Lettuce and Tomato
$8.95

We both drank iced tea.

There is little positive feedback that I can give for my burger. There was no risk of e-coli contamination, since the meat patty was very, very "well done". Another 30 seconds on the grill and it could have passed for charcoal. The mushrooms, sauted onions and sauted green bell peppers did add a nice flavor but on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) I would rate it about a 2.
They have patio seating with a glorious view of the McDonald's drive-in across south Kihei Road.

Judy said her turkey sandwich was okay. It does come piled high (about 2" or 4cm thick) with sliced turkey breast.

When we got back to her home, I surprised her with a heart-shaped box of DOVE® heart-shaped dark chocolate truffles. Since I probably won't see her on Valentine's Day (HEADSUP! - thats this Wednesday, guys. TOMORROW!) I wanted to at least let her know that I was thinking of her. No, not romance, just a friend making a friend feel good.

If everything goes as planned, the sale of Royal Sedan and Taxi Service (a/k/a Royal Cab, Royal Taxi) will close on Thursday and the new owners will take over on Friday. Art, the old owner, will stay on board as a manager until the new folks get a chance to learn the business. I haven't met them yet nor do I even know their names. All things in due time, I guess.

Please take my poll on the sidebar. You may only vote once. I am just curious as to where my visitors read Paradise Driver from. Work, home or both. I'll remove it about March 12th and probably replace it with another one.

Mahalo for stopping by today. I really enjoy your company.

Aloha.
