YOU"LL PICK YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS TOO

While everyone claims it would be unethical to produce genetically modified humans, we all know that some day it will happen. Another step along that path was quietly reported last year but it took this long for there to be any concern expressed. Tinkering with our genome is a new field of science. There is still along way to go until you can preselect eye color, intelligence, athletic ability. What concerns me more than parents trying to give their babies the best are the governments and multi-nationals who will try to produce a work force capable of only performing certain limited tasks, albeit quite well. Breed out desire and ambition, breed in what the current market place requires. Disposable quasi-humans. Creations that, in the "Bladerunner" sense, could only function in distant alien environments. Human in name only.

The power brokers of the world would breed into their lines perfect health, longevity, beauty, intelligence, maybe even immortality. At which point they will effectively become gods to the masses.

Just something to think about.
