MAUNA KEA

FULL MOON

While the Moon actually won't be "full" until tomorrow, I think 99% is close enough.

These images were captured just before 3:30 AM (local). The Sun hasn't started rising but the Moon is so bright as to make it almost as bright as day. In the view labeled "Northwest" you can see the lights of Kona Town and faintly, on the horizon at the far left, the top of Haleakala on Mau'i.

These images are from the CFHT atop Mauna Kea, at 13,796 feet (4,205 m), on the Big Island.
