... Hot temperatures over interior northern California today and Friday...

A strong ridge of high pressure will build over the region
resulting in hot daytime high temperatures today and Friday.
Most Central Valley high temperatures will be warming into the upper 90s to around 100 today... and into the 100 to 106 range on Friday. Record high temperatures may occur over the southern Sacramento and northern San Joaquin valleys on Friday.

Temperatures are expected to cool back into the 90s on Saturday...
with continued cooling on Sunday and early next week.

Hot weather will also occur in the mountains and foothills today and Friday with high temperatures in the 80s and 90s. Overnight minimum temperatures at the warmer locations in the foothills may only drop into the upper 60s to middle 70s Friday and Saturday mornings.
