THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN & BOYS

IS THE COST OF THEIR TOYS

The "gee-whiz" gadget chain, Sharper Image, has been sold at auction for $49 million, after approval of a bankruptcy court. The new owners plan to close the 86 remaining retail outlets, 98 others closed earlier. The name branding will remain in business in direct commerce, e-commerce, catalog sales, etc.

Sharper Image was one of those places where a grownup could wander through with the same wide-eyed wonder as a kid in a Disney store. I never bought anything there because the prices were beyond my budget. No matter how far I stretched it. But I enjoyed touching all the "James Bond" stuff and treating myself to a sample of items of creature comfort that you couldn't find anywhere else. Yet another sign of the economy going south.

One of the founding fathers of 'Rock'n'Roll', Bo Diddley, has died at 79 years.

It seems like the blink of an eye since she was in Paper Moon with her daddy and later in Bad News Bears. Now Tatum O'Neal is 44 years old and getting busted for buying crack off a homeless street vendor.

My Stat-Counter tracker acted weird all weekend. Now it seems to be okay. Here is the reason it went off-line:
Due to an explosion in The Planet Datacenter at the weekend, service on this partition was interrupted. Depsite our best efforts 24 to 30 hours of stats
spread across Sunday GMT and some of Monday morning have been lost. We sincerely apologise for this. More information is available in the Service Status section of the forum.
I guess an explosion is an acceptable excuse.

Less than 2 months ago, a deputy leader of al Qaeda called for Muslims to do damage to Danish interests in retaliation of Danish newspapers dissing the Prophet Muhammad with the publication of those cartoons a few years ago. The car bomb at Denmark's Embassy in Pakistan was obviously a first response.

Looks like the Feds are going to be owning a chain of strip clubs in the Seattle area. They used to own and operate the infamous Mustang Ranch 20+ years ago.

"Let's all be careful out there!"
