I SHOULDA CALLED OFF

6 RUNS IN 11.5 HOURS

Didn't even break $75.00 on the meter.

According to the drivers who worked, Sunday and Monday were just as bad. We are in the doldrums. Which is common this time of year. Hotel occupancy is down, condos sit vacant, businesses are cutting back on employee hours.

I heard that one dayshift driver only had one fare the entire shift, for $10.00.

We have 4 seasons, just like everyone else. They are very busy, moderately active, busy, calm.

Since income in a tourist based economy is cyclical, those who failed to plan for the slow period are struggling. Those of us who have been around for awhile have stashed funds away to cover this annual period. We typically lose about 25% of our drivers during this period.

Hopefully something will happen tonight worthy of note.

Have a great day.

I hate people who advertise in comments.

I've never surfed. I've been to the ocean, but you could never get me on a board now.

Sorry about business. I'd come out for a taxi ride, but the airfare would kill me!!

You can be broke anywhere. It could be worse, you could be having a slow night and NOT be in Maui.

It's very weird to me that summer is the busiest time of year for you guys. I understand the whole "summer vacation" thing, but I thought that Hawaii got the most action in the winter when people are desperate to get out of the cold. Fall being slow makes sense, though.
