HOLY SHIT, BATMAN

WE ACTUALLY MADE SOME MONEY

For the first time this year, Tuesday night actually brought home the bacon. About 72% of last year.

Gave me a warm, cozy feeling inside. Or maybe that was just the taco I had for dinner last night.

I only had one slightly interesting ride. Picked up a guy from the "Triangle" about 2:30am, a straggler. Quasi-sober, we exchanged chit-chat for the short 1.3 mile trip. Along the way he asked what I thought about Hawai'i's marijuana laws. I asked if he smoked, about 75% of the folks who live here do, and he responded "occasionally". I told hm that the way the law is written and the way it is enforced are in marked contrast. Possession of any amount is a felony but is usually overlooked for amounts below 1 ounce.
"No its not! You can have up to 5 pounds 0f pot and it is only a misdemeanor. More than 5 pounds is a felony."

Uh, my dear readers, 5 pounds (2.27kg) of pot would about fill two, 40 gallon (150 liters), trash bags, unless it was compressed into a brick. I just let the conversation die there. The BS was running out of his ears. The fare was exactly $8.00.
"Here's the fare. Sorry I can't tip you."

Not unexpected.
"No worries., brudda."

I did a flash count of the bills. A $5 and three $1 bills. Whoops! Check again. The $5 bill had 2 more $5 bills stuck to it (new bills).
"Not a problem. Not a problem at all."

And I drove away.

When Safeway did their recent total remodel they also acquired new shopping carts. This one for toddlers kind of looks like a taxi.

The south parking lot at the "Triangle" is being repaved.

This is one of the dump/spreader trucks being used for the project. Interesting and well done paint scheme.

CAN YOU SPOT THE CELEB??

IT'S KIRSTEN DUNST

SPIDERMAN'S GIRLFRIEND

My good friend Van, the owner of Maui Action Photos, sent these to me overnight.

He took them yesterday (Monday, March 5, 2007).

She's the one waving on the left.
Not the one doing the headstand.

Mahalo, Van.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL MONDAY

EVENING SPENT WITH JUDY

I picked Judy up from work and we ran some errands. She paid bills, I cashed in $214 in loose change I had in a big plastic jar. We decided to take home some KFC and we made a necessary supermarket stop. You know the drill. Very mundane but it also gave us time to chat. Judy is very aware of how tight cash has become and suggested that we have Big Macs next Monday. Wasn't that sweet?

We watched episode 18 of HEROES. The cliffhanger until it resumes new episodes on April 23rd, just in timke for the start of the May "sweeps". It was good. Very, very good. Bad guys have become good guys and the "Save the cheerleader" part is wrapped and now begins the "Save the world" segment.

For those who haven't seen HEROES, here is the first episode.
You do need a broadband connection to view it.
Sorry.

HEROES - season 1 - episode 1 - "Genesis" (00:52:59)

Tomorrow starts another week. I am not going to express hopes for a financially satisfying one this time around. Instead, I hope it isn't any worse than what has gone before.

I know that I'll have at least one spectacular day this month. March 17th, when everybody, even Hawai'ians, are Irish. It is the 3rd busiest night of the year, normally. And this time around, we'll have two, (yes, count them) TWO! Irish pubs to tend to.

BTW - Do you know the difference between an Irish wedding and an Irish wake?

One less drunk.

In case you missed it. I added 2 more countries to the visitor"s flags. Gibraltar and Ukraine. That makes a total of 82, so far. I didn't think I would ever get Gibraltar but, since I have, my hopes of acquiring Vatican City, Andorra and Luxembourg are greatly increased.

SPECIAL MESSAGE TO LONDON CABBIE

It's all your fault.

I blame you entirely.

Thank you!

That link to ALLUC TV is fantastic. And because it is so good, you - YES, YOU! - have caused me to lose precious sleeping hours. The video above was embedded from there.

For the rest of you.

DO NOT GO THERE!

But, if you do, blame LC, not me, for your addiction.
