This is the name of the official state fish of Hawai'i.
Its pronounced:
HOO-moo-HOO-moo-NOO-koo-NOO-koo-AH-poo-AH-ah (meaning "triggerfish with a snout like a pig". Locally called "Pig Nosed Fish").
Genus: Rhinecanthus
Species: R. rectangulus
Binomial name: Rhinecanthus rectangulus
Thats a mouthful!
It was made the state fish in 1985 but lost the title when the "sunset" clause of the law took affect after 5 years. Now 16 years later, the state legislature is attempting to address this oversight.

Wil i know you've been talking to your computer, when it gets better you must apoligize for all the nasty things you've called it. Hey we can still read it. I appreciate the trouble and effort you put into your blog, Ty,...June.. does any one else have trouble with word verification before you can publish the comment. It never likes what i copy and makes me do it again.
